De belangrijkste maatregelen zijn: weinig eten, gasvormende voeding vermijden, rustig eten en goed kauwen, veel lichaamsbeweging. Bij acute aanvallen kunnen lauwwarme kompressen op de buik verlichting geven. In geen geval lavementen met olie of zeep!
